Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange (CASE) Kathryn Green Eight products have certified for CASE 1.0. Currently completing charter version 1.1 of CASE to be submitted to TAB for consideration CASE 1.1 will commence as soon as TAB vote is completed. Most development work is to provide a stable version of the standard now that some implementers have experience working with the standard
Comprehensive Learner Record Jeff Bohrer

Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR) 1.0 Candidate Final is being updated to support learning pathways which are plans towards a goal. Early adopter suppliers are ready to implement once this update is complete. Initially addressing HED use cases, increasing interest in K12

A demonstration CLR Wallet is available that shows how the CLR can be managed and curated

Certification suite will be updated to include pathways and first products will be certified for CLR 1.0.  Following early adopter phase, CLR 1.0 (Final) will be prepared for TAB vote.

Group’s focus will be on market adoption and certification of more CLR products that issue and consume CLRs. CLR 1.0 will remain stable during this period
Open Badges Jeff Bohrer 14 products are now certified for OBv2. Project group is developing a common approach (Badge Connect API) for moving badges from one OBv2 system to another. Early adopters will implement Badge Connect API late 2018 and work on the certification suite will begin
Badge Connect API will go to TAB for vote and subsequently published as final version. Focus will be on market adoption and certification of products that implement Badge Connect.

Work will begin on a new and optional method for verifying Open Badges using Blockchain

LEARNING DATA & ANALYTICS

Clickstream learning data from all digital resources—available in real-time and viewable using any dashboard—can help inform student success strategies, institutional academic decisions, instructional design, and provides a common data format for research on student learning.

OneRoster Joshua McGhee
Twenty-four products are certified in 1.1

Completion of the base specification for OneRoster 1.2 which adds score scales, user-specific resources and alignment with academic standards via CASE
Complete the certification suite for OneRoster 1.2 and promote adoption of the updated standard
Caliper Analytics Joshua McGhee
Release of the Caliper v1.1 specification has brought new certified products, along with a new, agile process for adding profiles between releases of new versions.

Profiles developed and approved include Search and Tool Launch.  Additional profiles being discussed include: QTI Assessment, Student Feedback and Progress/Milestones
New profiles representing needs in the marketplace will continue to be developed

An updated release Caliper v1.2 is targeted for May 2019 including the new profiles

Caliper is a highly extensible core standard designed to support optional metric profiles for specific learner analytics cases.  We encourage members to propose profiles to meet their analytics needs
App Vetting and Privacy Kevin Lewis IMS has instituted App Vetting in the product directory for members to login and see the vetted apps.  The project group is gathering use cases and investigating ways to transfer privacy and security information via LTI to admins, teachers, students Expand App Vetting in IMS and draft requirements for sharing privacy and security data via LTI to include as an LTI Extension
Results Management and Reporting Joshua McGhee A task force has formed to align management and reporting of all forms of results across the IMS digital ecosystem. Initially, the task force will identify detailed user stories and scope/goals for a common vocabulary for results Development of a common glossary and model for results.  Suggested changes and updates to current specifications and if needed, a proposal of new IMS specification(s) to address gaps
Edu-API Cary Brown Edu-API is a new specification that will provide for data movement between enterprise systems (e.g., student information systems) and a broad range of potential consuming systems, incuding teaching and learning platforms and data repositories. Currently in design and development, a version 1 Candidate Final is targeted and on track for the end of 2019 with initial supplier and institutional implementations beginning in early 2020. A hackathon of draft specification was held at August Quarterly Meeting. Completion of Edu-API 1.0 and beginning of implementations to meet Candidate Final Public criteria. Working Group will immediately roll into 1.1 development focused on expanding the entities/resources covered, including Outcomes.

INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT

Digital assessment is made easier if there is a common format for exchanging test questions, structures, and scores, and presenting test content to students in a way that meets their personal needs and preferences while providing institutions with the ability to analyze results.

Complete the Candidate Final spec. Prepare the CAT Conformance Certification test process.

Submit the specification  to the TAB for final vote
Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium Mark McKell This activity is based on demand from states and vendors looking to have QTI items exported from the SBAC authoring system. The task force is documenting mappings between QTI v3 and the SBAC proprietary format
Complete the mapping documentation. Create a profile for validation and conformance certification

Publish the mapping documentation to the public
