Advancements in Digital Courseware and Adaptable Instructional Systems

There is mounting pressure on institutions to move towards adaptive learning environments that cater to the individual needs and preferences of learners of all ages. What impact does this have on digital courseware and resources? Sessions in this track will share examples of institutions implementing adaptive learning programs, and how the growing need for digital courseware is changing the relationship between institutions and publishers.

Developers Track: Implementing 1EdTech Standards for Seamless and Secure Integrations

Learn the latest functionality of 1EdTech standards and how to implement the newest capabilities into your products. Share your expertise to identify future enhancements as we continue to evolve a scalable, seamless, and secure ecosystem of edtech products that enable better teaching and learning experiences.

Igniting Digital Assessment Transformation

Get up-to-speed on the current state of the digital assessment landscape and identify priorities to improve digital assessment quality. Presentations will showcase examples of progress by the assessment community worldwide to leverage open standards to make online assessment platforms, resources, and tools more efficient and effective in supporting the use of simple quizzes, formative assessments, or high-stakes summative assessments. Sessions will also showcase the use of computer adaptive testing platforms—for advanced, personalized testing—and online proctoring—for remote, secure assessments.

Leading the K-12 Digital Transformation 

We live in the digital age and our institutions must reflect the world we live in. This means understanding why making the change to digital makes sense and being prepared to manage the change. This track will focus on the leadership challenges facing districts and how they are being solved.

State Educational Agency Leadership for Digital Transformation

State Educational Agencies (SEAs) face unique challenges in leading innovation and policy for digital learning. From the important bridge between Local Educational Agencies and the U.S. Department of Education to working to ensure state of the art educational opportunities for all students to offering programs for virtual learning, the opportunities for transforming the learning landscape are immense. This track will focus on the unique challenges and opportunities facing SEAs today and in the future.

Creating a K-12 Architecture for Innovation 

K-12 institutions are constantly facing the challenge of trying to “make do with less” and having to prioritize “must-haves” over “nice to have.” By using technology in innovative ways, opportunities exist to solve the current challenges, free up resources for other projects, and ultimately improve teaching and learning—the core school business. This track will focus on the ways in which K-12 institutions have been able to creatively address their digital learning needs and the resulting innovations that are advancing learning impact.

HED IT and Academic Collaboration: Leading Digital Transformation of Learning Together

You hear a lot these days about the need for greater innovation in higher education to support strategies for improving student access and success. Getting to a better future of edtech will require closer collaboration among academic and technology leaders. How can we move these collaborations forward? This track will bring together institutional leaders who are reimagining enterprise collaborations, procurement processes, and integration strategies—to enable a meaningful digital transformation of learning.

Measurably Improving Student Success Using Actionable Data and Insights

With advancements in big data analytics, AI, and cloud-based systems many institutions are grappling with where to start when understanding the impacts on data privacy. Sessions in this track will help institutions discover ways to more efficiently capture, transmit, and analyze learning data while protecting the privacy of student data. Presenters will share examples and stories of institutions who are using analytics and dashboards to inform institutional strategies for improving student success and retention rates.

Realizing Educational Equity Through Accessibility and Universal Design

Sessions in this track will focus on identifying challenges and opportunities that the 1EdTech community can address to help ensure content is universally accessible for all learners, without the need for adaption or specialized design to meet the needs of those with disabilities.

Advancing Digital Credentials and Competency-based Learning

Digital credentials are pushing a paradigm shift in education toward new models of education and talent development to help learners succeed in today's workforce. The old approaches to credentialing fall short in today's digital world when organizing and presenting verifiable skills and achievements that represent a comprehensive view of learning skills and competencies. Sessions in this track will help institutions plan, implement, and scale their own high-quality digital credentialing and competency-based programs.
