1 March 2011, Lake Mary, FL. – 1EdTech Consortium today announced the winners of the Australian Regional Learning Impact 2011 awards. The Australian competition took place at the Creating opportunities for learning in a digital world event in Melbourne on 24 February 2011. The winning entry, Mathletics from 3P Learning is a global online math resource which engages and motivates  students into math through a personalized and reward filled environment that incorporates the very best elements of live and global competition.

The first runner-up was Diving Supervisors and Chamber Supervisor Training from the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme, Inc. and the 2nd runner-up was Redefining ‘Class’  entered by Wanganui Park Secondary College.

Encouragement awards were given to  Lycette and Associates for Finance for Housekeepers; University of Southern Queensland for Remote Access Laboratory; NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) for BlogED; and Deloitte for  Deloitte Leadership Academy.

The winners of the regional competition are now invited to continue in the global LIA competition which is held in conjunction with 1EdTech Consortium’s annual conference, Learning Impact 2011 which will be held in Long Beach, California, USA the 16-19 May 2011.

The LIAs are unique in that they recognize the use of technology in context. Nominations describe how educational institutions, systems, or countrywide initiatives have leveraged technology to improve education.  The entries are evaluated according to eight criteria of impact, including improving access to learning, improving affordability of learning, and improving the quality of learning.
