In the Deep Linking 1 specification, the launch_presentation_return_url parameter was specifically excluded from the ContentItemSelectionRequest message (see section 3.3.1). This exclusion is not repeated in the Deep Linking 2 specification with respect to the equivalent claim (i.e. https://purl.imsglobal.org/spec/lti/claim/launch_presentation/return_url) though it is not included in the example provided in Appendix A. However, I have found the claim being included by a certified platform. Is this a deliberate change between versions 1 and 2 of the specification and, if so, how is it expected that this return URL should be used by a tool? Or should this claim never be included in a LtiDeepLinkingRequest message?
